Dendrochilum formosanum
Grown from seed.
A very charming, smaller-growing species from this enchanting genus found in Taiwan and the Philippines that flowers for us in Fall-Winter. Produces multiple “chains” of small, fragrant, yellow flowers. These are “overgrown”, flowering-size plants in 2.5” pots that ready to be repotted into 4” pots/baskets.
Photo #1 shows an example of the size plants offered for sale. Photo #2 shows the group where sale plants are selected from.
We grow these in our Cattleya house: bright, filtered light (2,000-3,000 foot-candles) and water just as the media starts to dry on top (keep moist).
