Pyp. Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS

$45.00

(Butterfly x papilio)

Mericlone.

AKA the “Butterfly Orchid”.  One of the very best and highly sought after selections of this very popular hybrid. We have had many customer requests for this plant and are very happy to finally have it to offer for sale. Plants have beautifully mottled “mule-ear” leaves and produce sequential blooming spikes that can persist for several years (so do not cut spikes when flowers fade). These plants do not like to have their roots disturbed, so don’t be in a rush to repot unless the media starts to break down. These are flowering sized plants in 4” pots.

Photo #1 shows our own selected plant that we grew into a beautiful specimen that received a CCE/AOS with 18 spikes; Photo #2 shows an example of the size plants offered for sale.

We grow these in our Cattleya house: bright, filtered light (2,000-3,000 foot-candles) and water just as the media is about to dry.
